Galleria Borghese Tickets English Guided Tour

This museum holds some important sculptures of Bernini, the greatest Baroque interpreter of all the times. He was a sublime Sculptor, not a great Architect but the best Baroque theatrical Designer of the History.

Galleria Borghese is one of the most beautiful Museums in Rome and is located in the Villa Borghese, a huge park commissioned by the nephew of Pope Paul V Borghese, Cardinal Scipione Borghese.

Bust of Paul V Borghese by Bernini. It is a very little and cute marble Bust, intented to be in his Bedroom.

The Palace is divided in two floors. On the first Floor you can admire Paintings by Caravaggio and the famous Paolina Borghese

Paolina Borghese was Napoleon's Sister and is represented here by Canova as Venux Vincitrix with the apple in the Hand. 

In the first Floor you can also admire the Greatness of Bernini in the three Groups of Sculpture that were commissioned by the Cardinal Scipione Borghese to a young Bernini:

David is the perfect Example to understand the Baroque Style. In fact in this Statue you can see the Tension of the Muscles and the viewer is involved in first Person when he stands in front of it.

Apollo and Dafne by Bernini is telling the Myth when Apollo fell in Love with Dafne from the Metamorphoses of Ovidius. 

Rape of Proserpina. Bernini was the only Artist who could give Life to Marble. 

On the second Floor of the Galleria Borghese there are on display Masterpieces by Raphael, Titian, Correggio and other Busts of the great Bernini. 

Bust of Scipione Borghese. Bernini thaught that the best Moment to express the Personality of a Person was when he was about to speak. 

The tour continues with a a golfcar tour of the park Villa Borghese that we consider one of the 20 things to do in Rome. In the park you can take some memorable photos of the lake, of the roman obelisk, Villa Medici and from the stunning terrace on the Pincio hill.
